Step 1: Removing the Old Walkway

Over the decades, the existing pavers had shifted, settled, and caused drainage issues. To create a solid foundation, we:
✔️ Excavated the walkway, removing old pavers, crushed gravel, sand, and broken asphalt.
✔️ Regraded the surface, sloping it away from the building for better water flow.
✔️ Installed a drainage system, featuring a trench leading to a dry well under the grass.

Step 2: Reinforcing the Base for Strength

A strong foundation prevents sinking and ensures long-term stability. We achieved this by:
✔️ Compacting the soil to create a firm base.
✔️ Placing professional-grade fabric to prevent shifting.
✔️ Adding a permeable base of washed rocks and compacting it.
✔️ Installing another layer of fabric for extra support and durability.

Step 3: Laying Down Belgard Pavers

With the groundwork complete, we installed premium Belgard Dimensions 12 paving stones in Tofino Grey, paired with a sleek charcoal edge.
✔️ Used sand chips (no fines) as a stable paver base.
✔️ Installed paver edge restraints with spiral nails for a secure, long-lasting fit.

Step 4: Final Touches & Cleanup

✔️ Concealed the drainage trench with fabric, washed rocks, soil, and grass for a seamless finish.
✔️ Thoroughly cleaned the worksite, leaving a polished and professional result.
